If you don't hear your voice when recording in Voloco, we recommend trying each of the following steps to fix the issue.
- Open the Mix Panel in the app—this is an icon that looks like a mixer, located near the bottom of your screen when you're recording. Check the setting for "Vocals." Moving the slider to the right will increase the vocal volume. Try doing so and see if it makes a difference. We recommend doing the same with the setting for "Live."
- Are you wearing wired headphones connected to your phone while you are recording? Recording using wired headphones is the best way to hear your voice. You can use Bluetooth headphones with Voloco, but please note that when you wear Bluetooth headphones, the app is recording using the microphone on your phone. You can hear yourself through the Bluetooth headphones, but the actual recording happens through your device's microphone.
- Have you turned off the "Vocal Monitor" setting? This icon looks like a pair of headphones. Turning off the Vocal Monitor means your voice is being recorded, but you will not be able to hear it while you are recording. Your voice will be recorded, and you can hear it when you are in Edit Mode.
- Have you given Voloco permission to access the microphone on your phone? Voloco needs to access the microphone to record.
- Please make sure you have quit any other apps that might be using audio (for example, Spotify, YouTube, or other recording apps) so that your phone knows to expect audio input and playback in Voloco.
If you continue to have issues recording in the app, please get in touch with us at support@resonantcavity.com for assistance.
