- Respect for Expression: Users are encouraged to respect each other's right to express themselves freely.
- Zero Tolerance for Abusive Behavior: A strict zero-tolerance policy is in place for any form of abusive or threatening behavior, including actions aimed at harassing, attacking, or demeaning others. Engaging in such behavior may result in immediate and permanent termination of the account.
- Constructive Feedback Focus: When providing feedback, it is crucial to focus on the content rather than the individual. Constructive criticism should aim to improve the quality of the work, not demean its creator. Users are encouraged to consider how they would appreciate receiving the feedback before posting it.
- Privacy and Personal Information: Users are prohibited from sharing the personal information of others. Attempts to circumvent systems in place to restrict this information are strictly forbidden.
- Impersonation and Misleading Information: Users must not impersonate others or intentionally post misleading information or content. If someone suspects impersonation, they are encouraged to file a report or contact support for assistance.
Adhering to these guidelines ensures a positive and respectful community experience for all users. Violations may result in severe consequences, including the immediate termination of accounts.
Self-Promotion on Voloco
Self-promotion is valued on Voloco, but engaging in meaningful interactions with other users is essential. While promoting oneself is encouraged, spamming is strongly discouraged and not considered a meaningful interaction. To ensure a positive and respectful environment, users are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:
- Meaningful Interaction: Self-promotion is best done through meaningful engagement with the community. Users are encouraged to contribute value to discussions and interactions.
- Spam Warning: Spamming, which includes excessive and repetitive self-promotional comments, is not tolerated. Users who engage in spamming will receive a warning and have their comments deleted.
- Behavior Change Requirement: Those who receive a warning for spamming are urged to adjust their behavior. Continued spamming without correction may lead to more severe consequences.
- Potential Account Termination: If the behavior of spamming persists despite warnings, it could result in the termination of the user's account. It is crucial to respect the community guidelines and engage in self-promotion responsibly.

What is Not Tolerated

- Illegal Activities: Users are prohibited from engaging in or endorsing illegal activities. This includes both the carrying out of illegal actions and encouraging others to do so.

What Qualifies as Spam?
Maintaining a positive and genuine community experience is crucial, and users are expected to refrain from engaging in spamming activities. The following actions are classified as spam and are strictly prohibited:
- Unsolicited Links: Posting links without prior request or context.
- Link-Centric Content: Content that primarily consists of links.
- Duplicate Content or Comments: Posting identical content or comments across one or multiple accounts.
- Creating Multiple Accounts for Inflation: Establishing multiple accounts with the aim of artificially boosting the popularity of other accounts.
- Excessive Self-Promotion: Engaging in repetitive and excessive self-promotional comments.
- Aggressive Following/Commenting: Overly aggressive actions such as following or commenting excessively on other user's posts.
- False/Misleading Content or Accounts: Repeatedly creating false or misleading content or accounts.
- Use of Bots: Engaging or using automated bots for activities on the platform.
- Use of Popularity-Boosting Services: Utilizing services claiming to boost profile popularity or selling social interactions/promotions.
- Publishing Malicious Content: Posting or linking to content with malicious intent.
- Selling Usernames: Selling usernames and sitting on specific usernames with the intention of selling them.
Users are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to the community and refrain from engaging in spamming activities, as violations may result in warnings, content removal, or account termination.
Three Strikes Policy
Voloco is committed to fostering a positive and respectful online community for musical creatives. To maintain a healthy environment, we have implemented a three-strikes policy. This policy is designed to address repeated violations of our community guidelines. Here's how the three-strikes policy works:
Strike 1: Warning
- The first instance of a violation will result in a formal warning to the user.
- The user will be provided with information about the specific guideline they breached and guidance on how to adhere to it in the future.
- Suppose the user is asked to remove content from their profile that violates the community guidelines. In that case, the user will receive a second strike if the content is not removed within 72 hours of receiving the formal warning.
Strike 2: Temporary Suspension
- A second violation will lead to a temporary suspension of the user's account.
- The duration of the suspension will be determined based on the severity and nature of the violation.
- The user will receive a notification outlining the reason for the suspension and providing additional guidance on community guidelines.
Strike 3: Permanent Ban
- A third and final violation will result in the permanent termination of the user's account.
- The decision for a permanent ban is made after careful consideration of the user's history of violations and the severity of the infractions.
- The user will be notified of the permanent ban, along with information on the specific violations that led to this action.
Immediate Termination for Violations
While the three-strikes policy will be adhered to, the platform reserves the right to terminate accounts immediately based on the severity of the violation. In this case, the user will still receive a notice explaining the community guidelines violation that led to their account’s termination.
This three-strikes ban policy is implemented to ensure fair and consistent enforcement of community guidelines. It allows users the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and make necessary adjustments while maintaining a community that prioritizes positive interactions and user safety.
Suspension Evasion
Voloco is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful online environment for all users. Engaging in suspension evasion undermines the integrity of our community guidelines and compromises the positive experience we aim to foster. To ensure a secure and enjoyable space for everyone, it is imperative to adhere to the following guidelines regarding suspension evasion:
- Compliance with Suspensions: Users are expected to comply fully with any suspension imposed on their account. This includes refraining from attempting to access or use the suspended features of Voloco during the suspension period.
- Avoiding Circumvention Methods: Users must not attempt to evade suspension through methods such as creating new accounts, using alternate identities, or any other means to regain access to the suspended features.
- Respect for Platform Decisions: Users are urged to respect the decisions made by our moderation team. Attempts to undermine or challenge these decisions through evasion tactics are considered a violation of community guidelines.
- Multiple Accounts Policy: Creating multiple accounts with the intent to evade suspension is strictly prohibited. Each account is subject to the same guidelines, and users must adhere to the rules consistently across all accounts.
- Consequences for Evasion Attempts: Users caught attempting to evade suspension will face additional consequences, including the extension of the suspension period or, in severe cases, permanent account termination.
Our commitment to maintaining a positive community relies on the cooperation of all users. By respecting and complying with suspension guidelines, users contribute to the overall well-being of Voloco. Any attempts to evade suspensions compromise the trust within our community and will be addressed with the necessary measures outlined in these guidelines.
Impersonation and Fake Accounts
Creating Voloco accounts that are fake and impersonate an individual, group, or organization is prohibited. Accounts that are created with this intent will be immediately terminated. This is done to ensure the safety of our users and maintain a trusting, caring environment.
What Users Should Do
When working to foster a positive and respectful community, users play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy online environment. Here are key actions users should take when finding content on Voloco that may be objectionable:
Use the Block Feature:
- Take advantage of the block feature to customize the content appearing in your feed according to personal preferences. Blocking a user on Voloco will prevent their content from appearing in your content feeds and will prevent the user from being able to interact with you on the app.
- You can block a user by tapping the three dots in the top right corner of their profile page and selecting “Block.”
File Reports for Violations:
- If a user comes across content that violates community guidelines, they should promptly file a report or contact support via email.
- To file a report in the app, tap the three-dot share icon on a post or profile and select “Report.” You will then be prompted to select a category the report falls under and to provide a description. When reporting, please be sure to provide a clear description as to why you feel the content violates our Community Guidelines.
Ignore Content You Dislike:
- If there is content that a user simply does not like, the recommended approach is to ignore it and avoid it in the future. You can also use the Block feature to avoid seeing the content again in the future.
Differentiate Dislike from Violation:
- Recognize that disliking content does not necessarily mean it is breaching community guidelines. Users are encouraged to report only if they believe there is a genuine violation.
By actively engaging with the platform in a responsible and considerate manner, users contribute to creating a positive and enjoyable community experience for all. The collaboration between users and the platform's moderation team ensures a space that aligns with our values.
