If you have Voloco version 9.0 or later installed on your device, you can access Custom Presets when working on a project. Custom Presets allow you to easily save and swap between your favorite combinations of vocal effects. You can access your vocal presets from the live vocal processor and a recorded vocal segment's "FX & Volume" settings.
How to create a Custom Preset
- When changing the vocal effects being used in live recording, tap on the "Preset" button at the top of the screen.
- You'll then see a list of all the Custom Presets you have created. Tapping a Custom Preset will load its saved vocal effects, and tapping on it again will deselect it.
- Once you have a set of vocal effects you'd like to save as a Custom Preset, tap the "Save As" button.
- You'll then just need to give your Custom Preset a name, and it will then appear in the list of available Custom Presets.
Editing Existing Custom Presets
Once you select a Custom Preset, you may notice that changing the vocal effects will add the word "(edited)" to the end of its name. This is because, while the Custom Preset is still selected, the vocal effects being used are now different from those saved in it.
If you would like to save the changes you have made to the preset, tap the three-dot character "⋮" next to the name of the Custom Preset and select "Save" from the pop-up menu that appears. If you want to return the Custom Preset to how it was before it was edited, select "Reset" from the same pop-up menu. This menu also gives you the option to delete a Custom Preset.
Tap the "Save As" button beneath the Custom Presets list to create a new Custom Preset out of an edited one.
Changing the Custom Preset on a Recorded Vocal Segment
- Tap on a vocal segment and select "FX & Volume" from the pop-up menu.
- You'll now see the selected Custom Preset at the top of the vocal segment editing view.
- Tapping on the selected Custom Preset will bring up the list of saved Custom Presets, and you can choose which one is active on the vocal segment.
- Tapping on the Custom Preset icon in this view will allow you to select "Edit All." This will apply the chosen Custom Preset to all vocal segments in the vocal layer.
Will editing Custom Presets change them in all projects?
Your Custom Presets will be available across all projects you create in Voloco, and you can use the same preset within multiple projects. However, making changes to a Custom Preset and saving them will not change the preset in projects where it was previously used. Instead, other projects where the Custom Preset was previously used will show that the preset has been edited and will still have the effects initially chosen for the Custom Preset. This means you don't have to worry about the changes you make to a Custom Preset impacting your other projects.
