In Voloco, when starting a project, the app automatically selects a key and scale if a backing track is loaded, but users can manually choose their own. These settings only affect the auto voice tuning of recorded vocals, not the backing track. To change the key and scale, tap the "clef and gear" icon in the top right corner of the project screen under "Project Settings." These settings can be adjusted anytime, ensuring flexibility. For more details on keys and scales, users can refer to the Voloco User Manual available on the help center home page.
When you start a project in Voloco, the app automatically selects a key and scale if a backing track is loaded. However, you can still choose your own key and scale if you want to try something different. A project's key and scale settings will only impact the auto voice tuning of the recorded vocals. They will not impact the backing track being used.
Tap the "clef and gear" icon in the screen's top right corner in an open project. You'll then be able to select the key and scale being used underneath the "Project Settings" tab.
These settings can always be changed within a project, so you are never locked into a specific key or scale. If you want to learn more about keys and scales, you can find more information in our Voloco User Manual. You can access it here.
