If you feel like your voice isn't matching up with the beat, you may likely be experiencing some audio delay (also known as "audio latency") while recording. Many Android phones have latency issues because the way the phone is built causes audio delay. If you are using an iOS device, recording while wearing Bluetooth headphones can cause a recording delay.
Here are recommendations and steps to help with the audio delay you are experiencing on your device.
Use wired headphones
We recommend recording with a pair of wired earbuds or over-the-ear headphones. Voloco works best for all devices when you do this.
Turn off Vocal Monitoring
You can turn off vocal monitoring so the delay doesn't distract you. The vocal monitoring icon looks like a pair of headphones. You can tap the icon to turn off vocal monitoring.
Use Time Shift
You can fix the delay between the backing track and vocals after you record by using Time Shift. To access Time Shift, tap on a vocal segment and select "Time Shift." You'll then be able to shift the vocal segment ahead or behind the beat in millisecond increments.
Check your default Time Shift settings
Your Default Time Shift settings may have been altered. To reset them, navigate to the Settings menu in Voloco by going to the Library view and tapping the gear icon on the screen's upper right-hand side. In the Settings menu, tap "Default Time Shift" under "Audio." Tap the \ "Restore Defaults" button at the bottom of the screen, above the plus icon. This should reset your Wired Time Shift Value to -20ms and your Bluetooth Time Shift Value to -200ms.
